Draw Near

40 daily readings, reflections and prayers on an app or in a booklet, and a meeting to share Lenten learning

Draw Near : daily life-giving habits in Lent

Lent is traditionally the time when we do something to look honestly at ourselves and come closer to God – so do give this Lent course a try, it’s for everyone. It’s an invitation to spend a few minutes every day of Lent with a short passage from the Bible, a reflection and a prayer, looking at a different aspect of Christian life each week. “Draw Near” starts on Ash Wednesday, 18th February, and runs to Easter Day Sunday 5th April.

You can follow the course each day, at a time to suit you, on the free Everyday Faith app* on your phone, or by picking up a booklet of the same material from church. Each week the newssheet will include a reflection of the weekly theme, and on Friday 27th March at 10am we’ll meet at St. Peter’s hall to share our thoughts and experiences of Lent, and listen to each other to find out what we’ve learned from the course, over a coffee.

You can find more information in the February 2026 edition of Source.

* The Everyday Faith app is very easy to use and can be downloaded from Google play Store or wherever you get your apps. If you want help loading or using the app, bring your phone to coffee after church on Sunday for some advice and assistance.
